Following a path in Blender

Rigid body physics in Blender

  • Introduction to rigid body physics

  • Add a plane

  • Move box

  • Random color

  • Add physics to box

  • Add physics to plane

  • Change plane to not be dynamic

  • Make more cubes

  • Add more shapes

  • What happens if we start with colliding shapes?

  • Add animated box

  • Add rigid body. Doesn’t move. Change from ‘dynamic’ to ‘animated’

  • Talk about mass and size

  • Talk about scaling

  • Talk about collision types (convex, concave, etc)

Soft body physics in Blender

  • Introduction to soft body physics

  • Add plane

  • Move up cube

  • Change to random color

  • Add soft body

  • Play

  • Uncheck goal

  • Play

  • Turn collision on for the floor

  • Cube collapses.

  • Select cube

  • Change bend to 1

  • Subdivide

  • Shade smooth

  • Make more cubes

  • Cubes overlap

  • Turn collision on for each cube

  • Talk about self-collision

  • UV vs. Icosphere

  • Change to cycles

  • Talk about TWO places you have to set things to enable GPU rendering

  • Add in transparency
